The Moose are on Fire!!

Tonight ended another year of VBS at my church. What an amazing week!!! This years theme was the ARCTIC EDGE (which was a big change from the desert theme last year) and we registered a whopping 142 kids - a new record!! I was teaching the 10-12 year olds as well as helping lead the music, and we had a blast. As much as I loved the teaching time with the kids in the class, I loved the music even more. I was leading with my friend Jenna and 2 other friends from church and I seriously felt like I was fulfilling my small dream of being in a musical!! We all just worked so well together and coreographed some steps and actions which got all the kids so pumped. It is so beautiful watching children sing and dance to the Lord. Our church was rockin'. Some songs we sang with the cd and others we played. We liked the mix as it enabled us to moved around the gym with the kids to teach all the actions.
I was reminded again this week of how much we learn and grow as we give of our time, talents and abilities. I was blessed by watching people from our congregation all work together in so many different ways to make a fabulous week. I was blessed by watching the children have fun, ask questions and listen to stories. And I was able to get a taste true fullfillment by doing what God has enabled me to do and know that He is using me to bless others. What an amazing feeling to know that your actions and words are being empowered by God because you know there is no way you could do the things you are doing on your own strength. Its such a great place to be in and I know that settling for anything less than what I know is possible would not be worth it. I love teaching and I love leading worship, especially to children. This has become my passion. I hope and pray that God will open up many more opportunities for me to serve Him in this way.
And if your wondering about my post title, it's part of my group cheer. We were THE MOOSE!!!
